Day 199 (25th July) – Ravenshoe, QLD
Visited Nandroya Falls which is a 6km return hike – Lily almost did the whole walk herself which was impressive. We had lunch at Milla Milla and then did the waterfall circuit in the afternoon
Day 200 (26th July) – Ravenshoe, QLD to Lake Tinaroo, QLD
Left Ravenshoe (Luke’s favorite camping spot so far) and stopped at gallo dairyland for some cheese and choc tasting! Went to Crystal Caves which the kids loved – they cracked their own Geode. Continued on to Lake Tinaroo for the night after catching up on some grocery shopping.
Day 201 (27th July) – Lake Tinaroo, QLD to granite gorge, QLD
After a fun night, involving a few police visits to a rowdy camper near us we decided to pack up and move on. We drove to granite gorge, completed some bush walks and visited the animals including wallabies, turtles, pigs, peacocks and more.
Day 202 (28th July) – granite gorge, QLD to Mareeba Drive In, QLD
Fed the wallabies before leaving. Stopped at jaques coffee and got a good tour through their process. Visited the Mareeba info center which has a great display. Spent the night at the drive in after watching a couple of kids films under the stars.
Day 203/4 (29/30th July) – Mareeba Drive In, QLD to Birds on Barron, QLD
After getting confirmation that we had secured a house sit in Cairns we tried to book a caravan park in Cairns – unfortunately it was peak season and there was no availability for a few nights. We stayed on a farm stay just outside Mareeba and did some more exploring.
Day 205 (31st July) – Birds on Barron, QLD to Cairns, QLD
Drove down to Cairns and setup camp in a caravan park for a few nights before our almost 6 week house sit
