Week 2 – Naracoorte, SA to Walker Flat, SA

Day 8 (10th Jan) – Mt Gambier to Naracoorte

Left Mt Gambier at around 10am and headed about 100km north past the Coonawarra wineries to the black cockatoo campground just outside Naracoorte.

Day 9 (11th Jan) – Naracoorte

4km Bush-walk at the camp in the morning, then went to the Naracoorte caves for a tour of Alexandra cave. Afternoon was spent swimming in a enormous pool in town – so big they call it a lake.

Day 10 (12th Jan) – Naracoorte to Kingston SE

Left Naracoorte mid morning and after a tough decision headed back to the coast. Weather was terrible and it was blowing a gale which made towing a bit hairy. Headed to Kingston and had lunch at granite rocks. Camped at Wills Beach Shack

Day 11/12 (13th/14th Jan) – Kingston SE

Lily turned two, the weather was miserable so we spent most of the day inside.

Caught up on washing and spend the afternoon on the beach

Day 13 (15th Jan) Kingston SE to Mannum

Traveled from Kingston up the coast and then into Tintinara and then onto Tailem Bend where we visited a town constructed of old buildings which have been filled with old artifacts and manikins. Kids (and us) absolutely loved it.

Camped on the Murray at Mannum in Bolto Reserve with a few rough people who were running a muck over night.

Day 14 (16th Jan) Mannum to Walker Flat

Caught the free ferry across the Murray to the town of Mannum where we did some quick shopping. We then continued on to Walker Flat. We found an excellent camp spot on the banks of the murray. Kids had a swim.
