Day 247 – (12th Sep) – Cairns to Cape Tribulation, QLD
Left our house sit and drove north to the Daintree river. Crossed the river and drove to Lync Haven Caravan park which was quite nice. Drove around and had a look at some of the beaches local to us. Had some unusual tropical flavoured ice-creams and explored the orchid.
Day 248 (13 Sep) – Cape Tribulation, QLD
Drove the Bloomfield track to Cooktown which was relatively easy. Got the car stuck in a drain while doing a u-turn in Bloomfield. Spent some time in Cooktown and visited the lions den hotel on the way home.
Day 249 (14th Sep) – Cape Tribulation, QLD
Spent the day exploring more around Cape Tribulation – did some rainforrest walks, walked on a few beaches and had yet another tropical fruit ice-cream.
Day 250 (15th Sep) – Cape Tribulation, QLD to Paronella Park, QLD
Left Cape Tribulation in the morning and drove to Paronella Park – This was a fascinating story and the kids enjoyed visiting too. We did a day tour and then got a guided tour at dark – this is one which we have always put off when visiting the area but that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Day 251/252/253 (16/17/18th Sep) – Paronella Park, QLD to South Mission Beach, QLD
Next stop was one of our favourite places in Australia, Mission Beach. Once again loved this place – didnt do much – kids spent most of their time between the pool and the beach.
