Day 268/269 (3rd/5th Oct) – Koumala, QLD to Rockhampton, QLD
Spent the morning driving into Rockhampton. Found a lovely farmstay which we were lucky to be able to get in for a few days as it was about to close up for the wet season. Spent a day exploring Rockhampton. From the free zoo, the train museum and great parks for the kids. We went to the top of Mount Archer which has an amazing view over the city.
Day 270/271 (5th/6th Oct) – Mount Morgan, QLD
We decided to wait out the school holidays and so headed slightly inland to the old gold town of Mount Morgan. We stayed at a lovely caravan park called Silver Wattle, Luke immediately made a friend with the owners daughter and we all enjoyed our stay there. From there we visited Rockhampton for a day.
Day 272/273/274 (7th/8th/9th Oct) – Yeppoon, QLD
Drove back through Rockhampton to stop for a ride on the old steam tram. Spend the next few days exploring Yeppoon and its surrounds.
